Hawaii English Language Program

From 2011 to 2014, I taught English for academic purposes at the Hawai’i English Language Program (HELP) of the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. I taught 2 courses during each 8-week term, and I served as technology specialist for the program, helping to create a new website and other technological resources for the program. Most of my students were from East Asian countries, and the average class size was about 12 students. For more information about HELP, please visit the program’s website: Hawai’i English Language Program – About Us.

For most of my recent classes, I used a blended learning system and created a website for each class. Below, you will find a link to the class website for each of these courses. These websites give many details about the classes, including syllabi, schedules, resources and other content. However, some of the website content was transient and may no longer be visible on the websites, and some of the content is protected by password. If you would like the password for any of the websites, please contact me by email. Though much of the students’  work is carried out on the forums, pages, and other digital rooms of these websites, these resources are only half of the blended learning; the students carried out numerous activities during regular class time as well.
